Frequently Asked Questions
How do I schedule an appointment?
As a new client, contact me via email, phone call, text, or my website form.
As an existing client, log on through the client portal button, view available appointment times, then select the day and time that best suits you. If there are any questions, you can always contact me via email, phone call, text, or my website form.
Do you prescribe medication?
While I do not prescribe medication, I can refer you to professionals who do. I will work with you and your other providers to ensure the work that we do in therapy compliments any additional treatments you are receiving.
Why do people seek counseling?
People seek counseling for a number of reasons. Some people want to be happier or more successful but are not sure how to make that happen on their own. Other people want more fulfilling relationships and want to gain insight and perspective to effect change. Some people want to move away from unhealthy habits, such as drug addiction or co-dependency, and need reliable support. Other people have survived traumatic events and need space to settle into the person they are now. Whether it is one or many reasons, counseling is a safe place where growth comes from connection and exploration.
How much will it cost?
The first in-person session (Initial Counseling Assessment) is $150; all remaining sessions (Individual Counseling Sessions) are $130. Based on your level of need, we will determine how often you come in for a session. For the first month, I recommend new clients begin with once a week appointments to build momentum, capitalize on motivation, and build rapport to ensure the best results. After that, I will see clients as often as twice a week or as seldom as once every six weeks. A good faith estimate of overall cost can be given to you upon request.
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept both insurance and private payments. I am credentialed to see clients who have one the following insurances: Aetna, Cigna, Oscar Health, Oxford, and United Healthcare. In addition, I accept all major credit cards as forms of payment, including Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my session?
There is no cancellation or reschedule fee if you cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment. If you cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours before your appointment or miss your appointment, you will be charged the full amount for the session.
Do you counsel children?
At this time, I only work with adults 18 years of age or older.
